Every year when school gets out, we take off for a few days to celebrate the end of a long, hard-working, crazy busy school year. It’s a great way for the kids to relax and enjoy being spoiled for a few days, and for us to thank them for all their hard work and dedication. They really are fantastic students and we want to show them how much we appreciate their efforts. This year, we decided to go back to Disney after a long hiatus of about a year and a half. They got a bit Disney’d out during the year we had annual passes, so we needed some time off. Disney was offering a great deal for Florida residents: $139 for 3 days of non-park-hoppers and add another park/day for just a bit more. The only catch was that it had to be used by June 5th. Perfect! It’s too hot and crowded by then anyway! So we booked 4 nights at Coronado Springs, which was also offered at a great price for FL residents. The girls LOVE the Dig Site pool area more than any of the other moderate hotels. We ended up booking one extra night at Yacht Club just so we could enjoy Stormalong Bay, which is by far the best pool anywhere on Disney property. There are 3 acres of so many different activities, from the shallow sandy area for younger kids to build sandcastles in, to the high-in-the-sky pirate slide which dumps out into a fun whirlpool area. Best of all we love the lazy river, which jets you along a winding river where you don’t have to do a darn thing but sit there and relax.
So, join us as we tell you all about what’s new and different, or still our favorite things about Disney.
